I started putting adbrite on one of my sites to see how it works out. I decided to try out publishing CPM banners. I just checked and I have registered 200 'ad zone views' yet only made $.02 from an advertiser that would have payed $1.00 CPM. Doing the math, shouldnt I have gotten $.20?
which ad it is makes a difference. if only 1 out of the 715 pageviews was a CPM AD, then it's $10cpm. so, how many of those were cpc, and how many were cpm is something you should look into. if you're getting a low ctr, then try repositioning the ads. you could also try interstitials but those are very intrusive, and depending on your website, could really turn off a lot of visitors.
hm i just checked my adbrite account, and i cant seem to find a way to display cpm ONLY. looks like it has to be cpm + cpc text ads. do you ever see text ads on your website?
Yeah i think if you turn off the network ads, this will eliminate your problem, as I believe this is where the CPC ads come in. Also you may want to set it up with a minimum eCPM and have it use alternate ad network code if it can't deliver adequate paying ads. You can actually customize it greatly. I've been wanting to give them a serious try, but after a day my payouts were really low compared to Google, so I decided not to bother.
