How much to charge for a link.

Does anyone have a guide they use to help determine a base rate for ads on their sites?

What would you say is a fair rate for a link on a site that gets about 130 uniques a day and is a PR5?

How about a site that gets about 5,000 uniques a day and is a PR4?

Any guidance is appreciated.

Dan

Well the one that gets 130 uniques a day and a PR5, you could calculate say a 5% clickthrough rate if it's a nicely positioned ad. If that's the case, there would be 26 clicks, with each a value of say $0.25... amounts to about $5 a day right? Of course that's an ideal situation, but you should charge no less than $15/mo.

For the site that gets 5 000 uniques a day, you should charge at least $40-50/mo. Even that much is... a good deal IMO.

Thanks for the reply JYM.

I'd love to get $40-$50 for links on that site...so the question I guess is where to get advertisers. I'm using Adbrite at the moment, and am not having great success (yet).

for a PR5 you cna't charge more then 5-20 USD a month ... Now it's all depending , if your website it's a link directory , then you can't charge so much . Also it's depending of how many outgoing links you have

Good points. Neither are link directories, and neither have many outbound links.

I'm a little hesitant of selling a link on ebay because of the auction fees. I will probably try selling them here. Thanks for the reply.
