Click Rates for DomainHop

Hi,
I have quite a few names parked at domainhop. I have optimized the heck out of them.

Question 1: What is a decent average clickthrough rate?

Question 2: Do you like the "standard" template or the "subcategory" template best?

My experience is Standard works better.

Click rate varies widely from almost 80% on some sites (The ads on the page are the ones the page looks like it should be for) to as little as 5%.

I'm generating about 200 uniqes a day but only getting about 2% click rate.
I had all my templates at "standard".
Most of the traffic is auction, retail, and pharmacy with a little porn.

Sorry, I meant to ask this before:

"exit" pop or "pop under"...which is better in your opinion?

Let DH optimize them for you.

Unless, the domain has some obscure links or is a not so obvious typo.

Pop ups? Yes! But again, let them do it. It is different based on the type of site/content.

You will realize more and spend less wasted time.

DH's optimization is ok, but you really need to spend the time to do it yourself. For instance: You could just choose general "law" for any topic having to do with law, and you will have a generated page of links having to do with law (But with a CPC in the .10 to .50 range). However, "law and government" , the context category, has only 1 link provided. Therefore, you have 3 to 4 more slots to use your "search term" for to get high paying ads in those spots. Then, use a keyword with a high CPC and smile all the way to the bank :-)

I agree with Alan: I have a typo to a major credit company, and they categorized it as "online servces" i.e. internet connection instead of "credit cards" or "loans". I also have quite a few legal names and so Alan's advice especially hits home, 'cause the six-cent porn clicks aren't even worth it.

Agreed!

I'm not saying let them do them all, I sure don't.
It also depends on the time you have to spend and the number of domains. If your short on time and or have XXX domains, be sure to "self optimize" those with potential and let them do the rest.

I do have to say though, there customer service is great! Very responsive and always adds a little extra info.

I have been interacting with DH with regards to several domains and they have come up with some $ generating ideas for them based on their advertizers and the domains traffic demographics.

One adult domain's stats at DomainHop:

December
124 visitors
24 clicks
19.355% CTR
$1.35 Revenue
$0.0109 RPU

One adult domain's stats at Domain Sponsor

December
152 Visitors
51 Clicks
33% CTR
$3.17 Revenue
$.02 RPU

Basically double at Domain Sponsor, but still... those are 2 great names IMHO with reasonable visitors (Type-ins mostly), but still earn very little.

However, a high priced domain at DS:

44 Visitors
15 Clicks
33% CTR
$24.15 Revenue
$.55 RPU

Much better :-) (That was a law domain).
