![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Afternic Success I've been domaining for a few years now but have never really harnessed Afternic as a market place. Has anybody had any real success with Afternic here because I've heard mixed reviews. I've currently got 3 domain on sale there, unfortunately there have been no offers made yet. Any tips?

I stopped using them through complete lack of success and them charging for it. You may be more fortunate. Sedo - unfortunately seems to have just about a monopoly at the moment, definitely in need of some real competition, and of course Snap with drops. Good luck |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I've sold zero domains with Sedo and half a dozen good sales through Afternic and their expanded listing program. All have been for good prices with excellent margins. However at the time I had a portfolio of 3,000+ domains so it is still a fairly low turnover. Therefore in my experience Afternic has done better than Sedo. However marketing domains to end users myself has by far done the best with literally hundreds of sales and thousands on the wholesale market. If you expect to chuck a heap of sub-standard names on any of the marketplace venues and expect them to sell you will more than likely be very disappointed.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Sold about 20 domains on Sedo via out-of-the-blue offers since Sep. '08 (out of roughly 500 that have passed through my possession). Haven't yet tried Afternic.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Afternic died when Sedo entered the house. Sedo is better because you can sell your names in numerous currencies, Euro, British Pound and USD. Afternic needs a facelift imho.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Over the past 3 years I have not had even one enquiry via afternic! In the same period, I have sold 62 domains through Sedo..... I have now decided that I am no longer going to waste money paying for the privilage to sell nothing! |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | a few years back I sold a name via Afternic. Then about six months ago had an offer accepted and seller backed out. I think afternic has a great tool called the Bazzar but unfortunatly they did nothing with it. Too bad. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Afternic has shoddy customer service. I once asked one of their reps to take a look at my domains and get back to me (to help me make a sale)....she never did, although at first she replied... And I never sold anything there either. I think there was a new management who bought over Afternic a few years ago...and they prohibited adult domains from being parked or sold there. Bad policy and management to me.... Obviously, I didn't renew my subscription there. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Out of 400 quality domains listed there, I had a $250 offer on a domain which was the min. bid, sent it to auction, got double for it, bidding war, otherwise afternic has been a total waste really, sedo works great for me, many many sales via that method, afternic charged me alot of fees for my WD as well. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | So in summary, there seems to be no value for money in joining Afternic for $19.95 a year then. I thought by being a paid service compared to Sedo (which is free), you'd expect them to market your domains in some 'extra' way, other than just getting your names listed 'for sale' on their own catalog? So what's the $19.95 a year for anyway? |
