Help! 750+ uniques/month but no clicks???

Hi.

I'm fairly new to this whole industry but am finding my feet. Need some help/advice though.

I have a small portfolio of domains, mostly .coms and mostly typos of high traffic sites. I get 750+ uniques per month for the portfolio but have still not had a click. I am parked with domainparking.co.uk.

Is there any reason? Are there any hints/tips for me or anything that i should be doing.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Well, it depends on what type of typo domains they are. For instance, adult typo domains seem to get a fairly high ctr because people looking for that type of content will click on just about anything. Typo's of popular sites, such as video or social networking sites, aren't going to get many clicks because the person will realize they typed the domain wrong... and just retype it. If you could give some examples of the domains then it would be much easier to see where your problems are.

What you say makes sense and i suppose i have always known it. Some of the sites are typos of popular sites... so as you say, most people will simply re-type them... guess i need to purchase some better ones...

For example... i own mapqurdt(dot)com... typo of mapquest(dot)com. Gets about 20 type-ins per day. I know realise that what you said applies to this domain... people will simply re-type it.

thanks for the info. Guess i'm in the market for some new (and hopefull better earning) domains!

i would sign up with parked, and use the "search portal" template, and within a few days, you should have some good clues as to what people are searching for, and you can go from there...

Part of the problem also might be that you have no ads displaying on your domain. Go check your domain mapqurdt.com..... There are absolutely no ads that come up. Hence, nothing to click on.

Also, it says "Finance Made Easy"... this has nothing to do with maps. So you should also change your keywords to something more relevant... such as "maps".

Lol, yup, no ads does usually equal low CTR

I had an issue with this a while ago... no ads displayed... and sent a support ticket to domainparking.co.uk and they replied saying that everything was fine and that they were being displayed. I never checked after that. Now that you mentioned it, i checked and sent another ticket through. THIS WAS THEIR REPLY:

Hello,

For some reason our provider Yahoo are blocking this particular domain from displaying ads. If we find out why we will notify you with the answer.

Regards,

James

Trademark & Banned Domains.

Hi Guys,

I will keep this short...

The reason this user is not getting ads displayed on there site is because our provider Yahoo have banned some of there domains on there network.

This user has also uploaded several blatant typos of Trademark domains which our provider will also not display ads on. (understandable)

I would also like to point out this user has been extremely rude to our tech support.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=483661

Our company will not tolerate such behaviour, nor will bow-down to threats of you making bad posts in forums if we do not answer your support tickets.

I hope all the other people reading this thread can appreciate why we replied to this thread in this manner.

We would be more than happy for you to move all your "15 domains" to another provider, hopefully you'll treat them with a little bit more respect and upload some better names, not blatent typos of TM's or names which have been banned for whatever reason.

Regards,

Joe
