Well, I have been searching around for one, couldn't find one.... so I decided to make this one "official"
In any case, I logged into my namedrive account for the first times in a couple of months. All I can say is wow! The pages look much cleaner. I am moving a couple of names to test it out.
imodo / bodis / domainparking have all failed me, I am reverting backed to the tried and true. Too many new startups.
Thanks for opening the thread. Interesting to see that all the 'new' companies haven't worked out for you.
I think it is indicative of a market where each portfolio has different needs and it is important to test around and see what suits your domains best. I know of plenty of ND customers who were unhappy at Bodis and vice versa. From what I can tell on NP and forums elsewhere, we have our lovers and haters, but with over 30,000 accounts, many of whom have been with us for over 2 years, and over 5 million listed domains, we do our utmost to serve those portfolios that do well with us as effectively as possible.
I think that any new company starting up (ourselves included) feels that entering into this market is easier than it really is and the amount of work needed to get things going and maintaining a high level looks far easier from the outside
From my perspective, I can empathise with the ups and downs, good press and bad. We know from almost three years' experience that there are almost always domains in every portfolio which do better on ND than elsewhere and we encourage people who do better elsewhere not to keep their domains with us. We want happy customers and do our best to support domainers in testing their portfolio to maximise revenue. It is in our opinion the only way that all parties can win. Satisfied customers are usually those who earn most!
I'd appreciate to hear any comments in this 'official' thread, but I'd like to state now that if there are any individual problems / threads should be started outside of this one to ensure it is not overseen.

I'm afraid we were down for 20 minutes this afternoon as a result of webserver overload. We actually solved the problem immediately but the servers took a little time to react correctly once we'd fixed the problem.
I'm a fairly new NameDrive customer, with not a huge portfolio but have been trying out some at ND. I particularly like the fact that they have categories for eco-friendly and green domains (which most parking companies don't).
I also had a recent enquiry into ND about a "missing" Paypal payment. I was somewhat amazed to receive an immediate reply back from Ed who was answering me from the floor of the Domaintools Roundtable auction! Payment issue fixed at once..Now that really is customer service. Thanks Ed.
Thanks for the positive words. As I said in my original post, I know that some people experience higher payouts on certain domains than with ND for what appear to be inexplicable reasons. We do have the same feed provider as Sedo, but we have different ways of apportioning revenue. We pay your portion of exactly what we receive from our advertising provider, whereas Sedo pay a click priced generated by themselves, rather a direct amount which they receive from their ad provider. I saw a report last month in the UK that financial advertising is actually proving less viable online than in print and TV for financial advertisers, so it could be that the financial clicks, while better paying than most other sectors, is not the be all and end all that many people believe it to be.
That same report actually surprised me by saying that the sector which was by far ahead of all other sectors (actually double the revenues of the next sector down in the list) was Recruitment. I have to say, I've worked a lot with domainers, so many of whom have said "I've got a great portfolio of financial domains", but very few have said "I've got a great portfolio of recruitment domains". Finance, incidentally, was 4th in the list of advertising revenue for 2007 in the UK.

Just a quick positive - I have found NameDrive support to be very quick and helpfull over the time I've used them in comparison to other companies. They also don't 'fobb you off' to keep you quiet like some others (mentions no names).
Ah yes - and the CPC stats are 'REAL' (good that isn't it) unlike others and their 'guesstimates'.
Would like to say that I like ND as well, great parking company.
I have one suggestion: I noticed remarkable increase in Indian traffic last months, would love to see India in the list of countries on the template edition page.
Would also like to add my two cents about how well ND has treated me since starting with them in '05, both in terms of revenue & in terms of customer service.
And... let me be the first to say (claim?) that
well, at least it's pretty good for the niche I specialize in. My current crop are being put to good use but I just picked some new ones up yesterday and will park them at ND and see what happens until I can put them to use.

I'll admit, I am using Namedrive since they accept the weird extension that sedo stubbornly refuses to add to their parking service (for no apparent reason).
That being said VERY pleased with my results, making $1+ a day with one domain over there, much better then parkingpanel.
Average CTR / Average RPM on par with Sedo, which is what I wanted in the first place.
Overall Grade: A- , which that rpm was just a little higher.
Can you tell us that what minimum percentage of ad revenue (which you receive from your ad provider on each click) do you pay to your customers.
For example, parked.com clearly mentions in its TOS that it will pay a minimum of 60% share of the revenue to its customers. Not saying that parked.com is better, but just trying to establish a comparison between the two since both namedrive and parked are big players.
I've gone into this several times here, but am happy to again. As discussed on the DRT panel in San Francisco, it is frustrating for us as we are contractually obliged not to reveal our rev share, so we cannot be as open as we'd like in these cases. 60% seems low to me and we are very well aware that without our clients' traffic, we wouldn't exist, so we give you a larger share as a result of that, significantly more than 60%.
Wow. Thats amazing, now I am convinced that namedrive is better! Its due to revenue share and some other aspects: Today, I had an issue with one of my domains parked at namedrive. I contacted namedrive support and got a satisfactory response via email in almost realtime!
I actually had this exact same conversation with a client this week, so I'll just cut and paste the mail.
Whether the click is counted or not is not actually anything to do with us. What you earn depends on how our ad provider counts the clicks. We actually send every click to our provider, but only show the first one in our control panel, because we know we generally only get paid for the first one.
We do, however, report your percentage of all revenue reported to us by them, so if they do pay for more than one click, you get the money, even if only one click is shown by us in the member area.
Where we differ to other parking companies is that we update our stats with a 24 hour delay every day as we wait to see how much our ad provider pays us per domain each day and we then pay you your percentage of that, irrespective of how many clicks we counted in the front office.
The majority of other parking providers do not have this system and pay you a click price generated by them on the number of clicks counted by them. This means that the number of clicks they count is very important as, even if they receive earnings from their ad provider, this doesn't translate into more earnings for you..
I hope this explains our side of this very frequently asked question.
Stats are updated every 60 minutes. This will include a generic click price which is then updated at around 2pm EST each day. Other than the revenue and PPC, all other stats are updated every 60 minutes.
Ed, is showing the parking page within a frame (really just for masking the ugly redirect name) allowed? With sedo, you actually have to "specially apply for permission" - but I find that to be a put-off... I'd rather just do it... and then if there's any problems, the provider can get back to me as to why.

It is in our TOS that any frame implementation must be cleared with us first. If you send an example to info at nd then we can clear it through for you. Any breach of the TOS without clearing it with us first is not appreciated and may result in your account permission being withdrawn as we have to ensure any other implementation complies with our contract.

ebatcave, I'm glad you like the landers. We actually have a raft of 16 targeted category landers which I am trying to shift through tech so we should hopefully have some new stuff on the way shortly.
