Show off your customized parked pages!

Hi everyone,

I would love to see examples of what other people have come up in terms of customizing their parked pages. I think this is a good idea since it will inspire people to do better with their pages when they see what can be done with the limited customize options.

To kick it off, here are a few of my custom pages at Bodis:

http://MountainViewAreaCodes.com (Problem is, I think I am giving people what they want, the area codes, so there is no need for them to click anything!)

http://Bandylegged.com (Silly handdrawn logo using Paint and goofy pirate text using as many pirate buzz words as I can muster in a tiny space.)

http://PartituraDeAccordionGratis.com (My attempt at a Spanish site. My limited Spanish vocabulary forced me to double check it all using Babelfish. Wish the links could be in Spanish too. But yes, that LONG url does get visits!)

BTW, this thread does not have to be limited to Bodis. Feel free to show off some of Parked.com's new features too!

The accordion site has several ortographic errors, be carefull because your target is "high level cultural" people.

Your Mountain View map confuses me because although I'm not American I can see that the map is not of California, perhaps it's of one of the other 2 states. How about the bit in red, is that some county in one of the states? It probably makes more sense to an American.

as for the second one, I wish I could understand Pirate language. It appears to be funny but it's almost Japanese for me. Still, I think it's colourfull and brings a smile to me face.

Partitura is definately more to my liking and a much more serious looking page. Nice picture and nice short intro. Oh and BTW please change "otras instrumentos" to "otros instrumentos".

As for Babelfish all I can say is that it leaves a lot to be desired in it's translations. Still it's better than nothing. I would advise you to get a Spanish speaking person to check it out as there appears to be a few more errors which i'm not sure of. Perhaps some kind soul here at NP could help you out.

Despite current received wisdom in some SEO circles, IMHO you'll find that 'giving people what they want' is not a bad strategy in the longer term - I would say trust your instinct :-)

I believe it's determined by the feed provider. The stronger the keywords, the higher the chance of getting to a single click lander. Don't quote me on that, but that's at least how i understood it. You might find more info in this thread: http://www.namepros.com/parking-and-...arked-com.html

I don't understand why people put videos and long articles on their parked pages.. Wouldn't it be better if your visitors were so bored with your parked page that they click on the links?

I can tell you all my sites on Bodis are indexed.

Not much rev since I've placed names there that did not have much traffic.

Most of my names are indexed. As for income I got $10.00 in August and the same in September for 100 domains. Not very good. I think it's to do with the names, but I'm really not sure.

You are right. I make 100s time more than $10 a month and most of my names are set to the default page. It all has to do with names that get traffic.
