Oh no... it's the weekend!!

i have a website on the subject of education, and is geared towards students/teens, and it seems to dip in traffic on fridays and saturdays... on the average, the fri-sat gets 20% less unique hits than sun-thurs.

so for those out there with developed sites, do you tend to receive more traffic during the week or on weekends? what market is your website(s) geared towards? and more importantly, how can i get these lazy kids to do their homework on fridays and saturdays?!?!

Unless it is porn - it seems all parked or developed domains see a dip in traffic for me on the weekend starting Friday afternoons. Saturdays are usually the worst performing day of the week.

i second whitebarks observation - dip in most everything on the weekends and sat is the worst of the week

Yep, my adult sites have done great on the weekends and usually I will see traffic pick up on wed or thursday at the earliest. Plus many people like to break from school related material especially around the weekends.

thanks for the insights. interesting to see that this trend spans a wide range of categories beyond education. perhaps i should pick up some adult names so i dont feel so down on the weekends... lol

I get about 70-80% traffic on the weekends of an average weekday. No experience about adult sites.

I have educational sites as well. What I am trying to do is to add some educational games and interesting videos, for the students, and, for the parents who mostly only have the weekend to access the net, some related articles relating to their kids education. But still far from an even unique daily visitor rate.

Was just wondering that today, I hate how theres a drop during the weekend! My arcade site does get a lot of hits, though. But the rest are always less
