Hello,

wasnt sure abt wher to post this.

how do we price a portfolio for sale ? do we take into account its mthly/yearly parking rev and then multiply it by 'x' to reach the final price? or do we take more variables into account?

sorry if this post aint meant to be here.

ok..but if i do have to quote a price based on parking revenue how do i price it?
for exp, if a portfolio is making about $10k a year, what is the price i should offer to sell it at.

It depends who you are selling it to. If it's an investor in parked domains they should probably have their own view of what multiplier of the revenue they are prepared to pay.

If it's someone that wants the name or traffic for some other purpose they may have a different view of the value of the domain.

If I'm offering to sell a domain with good revenue to a non-domaineer I explain the current traffic profile & the revenue it's generating me. I then explain that for me the value of the domain is 5 years profit (revenue less registration renewals) and make it clear that this figure is my opening offer.

So in that scenario I'd ask a little under $50K & if I wanted to make the sale would probably settle for somewhere between 30 & 40.

On the other hand if it's a small group of domains that are producing that amount of revenue it is likely to have domains with attributes well beyond the mere parking revenue it generates. You owe it to yourself to seek other forms of valuation to ensure that you don't sell yourself short.
