sedo.co.uk scam
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/parking-and-traffic-monetization/265803-sedo-scammed-me-and-youre-next.html

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I recieved the letter below today. I have been purchacing domain names for many years now and point them at places like sedo.com. Today they deleted my account including 1200 dollar sale of domain that was sold through using there service. Lost over 1500 total.... Dont trust these Germans!
Hello Jason,

A detailed examination of your traffic showed that it was not coming from natural type in and search engine query generated sources but from promotional and known bad sources.

Because of this we have no choice but to close your account, block your domains from the marketplace and withhold your unpaid parking revenue.

As outlined in our parking and conditions our parking program can only accept natural traffic. Redirected traffic or traffic from any paid sources such as link exchanges or promotional services and software is not accepted.

For reference please see:

http://www.sedo.com/about/policy.ph...guage=us#link53

Give us a break.

Anyway, it sounds like they had a legitimate beef with the source of your traffic. Since you've just joined and made the one post, we have very limited information. But there is no evidence that sedo "scammed" you, and this has the feel of a hit and run post.

Despite the price for clicks issue of late, I have always found Sedo to be a smooth run operation and especially from the employee who emailed you. Keith is always ready to help.

Im with db on this one.

I am currently experiencing another problem with Sedo: I have paid for the domain to Sedo, however the seller has not pushed the domain to them. Almost a month passed but they are not responsing to my emails with a request to return my money back. Sum is high-XXX. PayPal does not do anything about my claim either.

That my friend, is why sedo holds and escrows the money until they receive from both parties. They will return your funds if they do not get the domain in most cases

inspiration100, they admitted that seller does not respond first, but then they LIED saying that the domain is actually in their GD accout and asked me to send details for a transfer (name, tel.no, etc). After I sent them these details they never responded ( suppose they just wanted to waste some of my time as they have all my details anyway). Moreover, the whois still says that the domain is still owned by the seller.

sedo.com offers me good services as well and was able to sell my domain for me. yeah you should have read their usage/tos first, as they said they don't want artificial traffic.

Consider youself lucky. I have had 2 transactions take more than 60 days and one taking 94 days to complete. YIKES! But all my sales or purchases have taken at least 30+ days (exception: one took 11...real fluke). I am waiting on one now that I sold November 4, buyer paid on November 11, transfer and auth code submitted Nov 23 and still waiting to be paid. So, it is usually a week per step.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=265803

Sedo is SloGo on the PayO if you get the drift. They do things in Sedo time which does not correspond with your time.

But I can not knock them cause Sedo been "berry berry gud to me".

Not that I am disputing your claim, but I have always had them email me back.

Consider this: you may be dealing with someone in the UK (time zone) or in Germany (time zone & 4 day work week). Email them again, or look at the transaction history and find out who has been emailing you.

So hang in there.

For invalid clicks or bad clicks sedo should uphold the peyment made through clicks not the payment generated through sale of domain..

Also I am curious why didnt they warned him first? I think it would be more fair first to warn and ask for correction, mabe some fine, but to ban him immediately without any space to explanation is ridiculous.

Sounds to me like you should read their T.O.S. first. If you have been artificially inflating traffic then I'm just glad I'm not the one trying to buy a $1200 domain off you. Having made your first, and only post an attack on one of the largest companies in the industry, and laced it with a racial slur, I can't imagine your really doing yourself any favours here.

I have had the same thing. Same with my roommate. It is because of places like this that I am 100% skeptical of "making money". I always wondered how they made so much. Now there is no doubt how they did.

Never had problems with Sedo so far
They have been very helpful many times

Most of the companies ban you at once with asking
I don't say it's good but became common practice (Google Adsense is the leader of permanent ban)

Traffic directly to the parked page gets your account banned but not at the sales page of the domain

In fact they encourage you to send any traffic you want to the sales page

YPN has the ability to make a boost but so far eats the dust of Google
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=265803

I support YPN but i don't ignore the leading place of Adsense
So i rather wait for Badger to integrate Adsense to 1Plus and find a reasonable and polite person to talk from dealing directly with Google (by the way the tech dept of Google is much more friendly than the other depts)

Let's see

The only thing i can add to this topic is that if you're inflate traffic to your domains don't. You may sell 1-2 domains and get some $$ from PPC revenue but in the long run it will hurt your portfolio and your account

From what i known and hear every day, sedo is the most patience system for this kind of abuse, others ban you on sight

Sedo has millions of dollars in its control at any given time. You have to realize how much a million dollars sees in interest in 30, 60 or 90 days? Think about the amount of interest they see during these periods. I'm sure we agree to this in the TOS. (The old PayPal model) Par for course.

I was actaully thinking about this sort of thing the other day, about people who had there accounts closed!

I tried to get onto the SEDO PRO, after a while they told me that 4 names were recieving SUSPECT TRAFFIC!! Thing was it turned out they were getting traffic from sources outside of my control, I had only just reg them!!

To solve the problem they said that the 4 domains could not be entered for SEDO PRO, to protect me from the above situation happening.

So for me they helped me NOT getting my account closed.

It happened to a friend of mine too.. and he only made $1. They should at least warn you about your "suspect traffic".

As for the domain sale, I think it's unfair, but that's just me.

I use Sedo too and never had any problems with them.
