banner or text ads....

What works better on a website? Banners or text ads?

I've just discovered the wonders of Phpadsnew for the first time and curious as to what kinds of ads I should be putting on my site. I'm thinking about doing a combo of both types of ads, but i wanted to ask what pple had better luck with?

Cancer Survivorship
generally I find text or a banner with a desciptive line of text below it works better than just a plain banner.

Apaprantly banners are useless now. I think so too - I never click on banners, unless they stand out. I clicked on the tutorials.bz banner because it was professional and caught my eye.

I am using opera and it is banner supported. At the moment I havent clicked a single banner and I don't know they are there most of the time.
