What type of website submission do you prefer - manual or automatic one? And why?

I suggest that you only submit your site manually to top few SEs like, Google, Yahoo and MSN.

If your site gets some backlinks then you don't even have to submit your site to SEs as SE bots follow the links to find new sites.

Also, You should use Google, MSN Webmaster tools and Yahoo Site Explorer. Via these softwares submit your sitemap.

I tried to use automated softwares in doing submissions but I only get less amount of quality back links so I went back in doing manual submissions.. I prefer to use the traditional way..

You can use a freelancer to do manual submissions. Some freelancers do it for as little as a few cents per submission. This way its sort of automatic but still manual
