is something like backlinks.com legit and will it make your site get flagged?

i came across backlinks.com as a way to supposedly make good money selling text links on your site where "they do all the work for you" and split the revenue. Is this a good idea and will it get you deindexed by google? Can someone who has tried it comment on whether it actually works and earns a decent dollar?

(mods: i hope i'm not breaking rules by mentioning the site; i'm genuinely curious about the service as it seems -- on the surface -- a good way to get started gaining advertisers)

could be same niche as text-link-ads.com link buying/selling is frowned upon by google. take a look at their index on google.com both of them only got a few.
