Write resourceful content, link to other bloggers and their articles and the traffic will follow. If you keep writing great content and link to bloggers they might link back to your article. Link from their blog would mean a lot to your blog, in terms of SEO and Traffic.

Obvious, but many times overlooked is to be sure :
1. your basic keywords appear in your post's title
2. the blog's URL contains the primary keyword you want to optimize
Good content will always be the key, that aside. Id try the other suggestions already mentioned as well as these.
Perhaps also try using EntreCard. The visitors will come likely just to get credits but some may stick around. But at least people will notice your blog from there, and quite possibly come back.
Another route is to send your quality articles/posts to blog carnivals. Huge list over at blogcarnival dot com.
And lastly Id suggest trying to get added to some power lists/ranking lists that compare blogs etc. Even the last placed rank blogs get traffic from the bigger lists/rankings. Of course these lists tend to be niche specific but there are many out there.
