| How to get regular visitors and registrations ? :(
hi,
I'm running consoleplayers.com forum since 2006-11-15 earlier i was using phpbb
Now since few months back shifted to smf with cmplete new database.
What i'm doing wrong, or i should say what i'm not doing like other forums ???
I'm not getting visitors, registrations/memberships signups. Thought Uniques per month is over 1000.
what should i do ????????? 
How can i make visitors to become members and return...!
current post if you see are from webmasters which i paid for some np$ in other forum here at NP.
please suggest me i'll be highly thankful.

| offer both content and contests. you need to give people a reason to join the forum and stay active, which is difficult to do for all new forums.

| Yep, offer contests, get some of your dedicated friends to post interesting topics to start the forum out. And lastly, many people don't realize this, you must have some money set aside for advertising your site. Invest a couple hundred dollars in advertising, usually, if done right, you can earn that back within a year or less. )assuming your forum is original, or semi original)

although posts / content is coming but not getting me regular / returning visitors.
regarding the advertising don't have budget yet for that, and i'm earning almost 0 (zero) from revenue since the start.

However, at one point I was an active freelance writer for a well known online website called omgn.com

But things like that can give your site a boost. It's all a matter of providing quality content. And keep on providing it. It's a tough job in the entertainment industry... believe me I know >< | |

and yes, you are right it can boost my site. but i'm not getting much time for that at the moment... But putting good content was always on my top hit list.

| You can use contests like they stated. Also I know for vbulletin there are some mods that will send emails out to all members that have been inactive for so long. Im sure that there are things like this for smf. So just look into some good hacks and mods for smf that can help you out a little bit.
