We all know that getting traffic is the most important thing for website owners, and also that it is not an easy thing to do.
I've tried directories, but the links seem to be gone for some unknown reason.
Tried PPC but it just does not work.
Tried stumbles.
And some other things.
But i still dont seem to get good traffic for my website.
I am not asking for a magic method for thousands of hits, as i do understand there is no such thing.
Instead im asking for some advice on where to start or to look for advertising options, because i simply do not know what to do at the moment.
My website is www.liveticketshop.com and, you guessed correctly, it is a ticket selling website.
I am suffering the same but all i keep geting told is use backlinks there does not seem to be any one route to take but hay what do i know i am not even indexed yet by google...
You are well indexed at Google and No 1 for live ticket shop. I think you need to do some keyword research and find out how exactly people are searching for tickets - then you can optimize your site for most important search queries and increase SE traffic.

No, my problem with adwords is it simply does not work. I charge the account and it just says im over the daily budget, everyday. I tweak all options and it still simply won't work. I have used adwords before and do know how to use it. Costumer support simply does not help at all, so i just asked for a refund
There's nothing more powerful than the power of fans. I'd look at some of your hottest tickets and hit up the fansites for a link - offer them a discount or a free ticket to giveaway in a contest. I watched a site shoot from 100 hits to 9,000 in one day because the fans of a certain actress found an article about her on the site.
One thing I can think of at the moment is site-wide ads on a similar niched site with good traffic. You will surely get to reach your target audience faster.
SEO is always the wiser choice - but would require some time before you start seeing results.
First of all this is a very nice website! Try to advertise your site using competitors sites with more traffic. There are other sites that sell tickets and they offer advertising space.
You can set a blog also with link to your main website and there you can post articles on many topics. For example you can write a small informative article(keyword rich though) concerning the life of Keith Urban and at the end you can insert a link to your site which sells tickets to his concert..You know that blogs are indexed more easily..
Also You can submit this article,with a link to your blog, to some social bookmarking services. There is many traffic there.

I am in the process of setting up a site and I am thinking of putting ads in the national newspapers to get folk to visit. Is this a good ploy or what??
