Lightbulb Permission Marketing List Rentals

There are a few problems with renting a regional list.

1. It's not targeted to content. Regional segmentation is very broad and less likely to yield good conversion rates.

2. It's unlikely that such a list would be permission based (i.e. not too many people would request to receive email from anyone who wants to contact individuals from a specific region.)

I would recommend that you rent a list more targeted to your industry (industry specific) and then filter your mailings to specific zip codes/cities/states for regional targeting.

For more about filtering, read my blog post below:

Using GroupMail Filters to Manage Email Campaigns

While the post above is GroupMail specific, any decent email marketing application or service will provide filtering tools.

Also, be careful when renting email lists. Ensure that you are renting from a reputable source. For more information about renting lists, read:

I hope that this helps.

Best regards

Tom
