Next week I will start the sale of a nice dating software clone of the well known free dating site: Plentyoffish.com.


The name of the software is pofclone.com (PlentyOfFishclone) and I am wondering how I can make this sale of the perfect software a success? To boost up the initial sales I offer members of this forum the opportunity to pre-order it for just $49. After this pre-order time I sell the script at a price of $199. I think the pre-order thing is important to kickstart, right?


What else techniques do you recommend me to do?

yes, i have.. in fact I am not using it as a brandname or trademark, thats why i named it POFclone.com

submit it to scripts sites/directory like hotscripts.com, sharewarejunction.com, download3000.com, im sure there are lots of those, also on analog-x.com there's a free software submitter that you can use to submit to 100+ software/shareware directory.

Some suggestions:

1. Submit it to script directories
2. Get a number of users installing it and talking about it; especially influential people
3. Affiliate programs
4. Build buzz (in forums, blogs, etc.); see #2 above.

You can even come up with gimmicks like selling "licenses" for $0 to the first xx users, etc.
