I forgot the when and why, hehe. I've read sooooo many posts over the last 3-4 days that my head is spinning!
Here's what I've read:
- It's good to park your pages
- It's not good to park your pages
- If you do park your pages, park them here (insert name here)
- If you do park your pages, don't park them here (insert same name as above here)
- Adsense stinks
- Adsense is the best
- This (insert some name here) is the best place to drive traffic to your site
- No, this (insert again) is the best one
- etc; and so on.
Everyone
(using that word broadly here, it's really not everyone) contradicts each other by saying one company is the best, while another person says the same company is the worst ever.
So, here are my questions. Answer them if you're able please.
What really is the best way to get your site out there, or get it traffic?
How do you actually market your site with little or no money?
Where are these directories?
(I've read you should "hand submit" your sites to directories, not use the service that uploads to the search engines.)
If I wanted to park a few pages, which company really is the best?
Is adsense worth it? Do you know of something better?
Who and where are the best affiliates?
Are affiliates even worth the trouble?
Is their any good advice you can give me that will help me in general?
About me so far:
I've read about ad placement optimization, I believe that I've gotten my ads setup quite well. My domains are fairly well put together and easy on the eyes. Plus, I keep them in context with the main theme of the website. I'm currently working on 4 (one is actually complete, but it requires updates) sites, with my husband, that are all targeted to a specific audience.
Though I generally have more time than him, I spend a large portion of my day reading and researching, taking a short break every hour or so to rest my eyes and mind.
We're using a host that allows us the flexibility of unlimited domains, databases, mysql, bandwidth, etc.
(We even inquired about the unlimited bandwidth, when we run out of our 70k MB, they give us 70k more) So, we're comfortable with our service with them.
I've learned a lot over the last few days, but I've gotten confused about quite a few matters and would really appreciate some clarification on these topics. Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for any replies!
