Do we have any search engine techie here?

I've been following the current google dance as much as I've had time for (which hasn't been that much).

Basically I'm wondering if anyone knows the status of new backlinks and PR.

I can see some new results on backlinks and PR on the -va datacenter. Is this the new results for the PR? For me, it's shows up a bit too good, which makes me doubt it. It seems to be the only datacenter that has a different backlinks count at the moment, and I know the backlinks aren't updated on the others .. so I really can't imagine anything other than that -va shows the PR we will get soon. Could it be that it's waiting for a new dampening factor and that I really shouldn't be crazily happy about it just yet?

As when it comes to the new SERPs we have seen spread, I'm not that curious as I'm pretty sure there are still some fixes to do.

(I know -zu showed updated results for a while, but as it's unreachable atm I didn't include it)

There have been some changes at Google which is affecting how search results are being presented after the last crawl. So I am assuming it is also affecting PR and Backlinks.

I have a number of clients who held top 10 in various keywords
see there sites drop dramatically in the listings for no apparant reason. While their sites have increased PR #'s

My advise to them is to wait it out another month for things to works out as it is almost impossible to get a accurate picture right now

As for the SERPs I can still see changes during the last 3 hours or so, indicating that we might see more of it. At the current moment I'm seeing the worst (as in not relative) SERPs since well over a year. My intuition tells me there's more to come, earlier than the next dance.

As we did see some PR changes about 2 weeks ago, I'm starting to suspect that we will have to wait another 2 weeks for the -va, or something close to it, to propagate.

Then we also have the directory changes that IMO are well over due. This seems to have updated on directory-ex and -va since a few days, but not further propagating, much as the PR and baclinks. This again leads me to believe that there is more to come before we see another dance.

For me, it was really a great early christmas gift

I'm now co-owner of my first PR7

And the number of PR6 sites went from 1 to 3

Along with that, I had improvements on every other of my sites

I'm still waiting for the directory update to migrate from the updated one at -ex though
