I'm offering text links on my blog for just $3/month. So far it has been very successful with no advertising or back link building with nearly 1000 visits so far this month. See stats:
90% of the content is completely unique written by myself talking about pieces of design and art and explaining techniques. A new recently added feature is a syndicated feed from tutorialpulse.com for some detailed tutorials.
I did neglect the site for over a month then noticed it was getting a large amount of traffic so I'm paying more attention now, more posts, more often etc.
In buying a link you are not tied down, you can quit after a month if you change your mind, not that you will. I predict my sites traffic will keep increasing. No page rank as of yet as its still fairly new.
