A Trio of 6-Figure Sales Sets the Pace in a Busy Week for the Domain Aftermarket

The new weekly domain sales Report is out at DNJournal.com. Buyers were out in force this week, ringing up more than two dozen reported sales at five figures or more with three of those cracking the six-figure mark. The .coms had a dominant outing sweeping 18 of the 20 chart entries. However, the ccTLDs did have one of their 20 best sales of the year to date with a one-word Dutch domain. The non .com gTLDs also had one representative on the elite list – a .net. You can get all of the details here: http://www.dnjournal.com/archive/dom...1/20111214.htm

Here Are Some More Facts You Should Know ...

... before believing the sales/auction "results" in their entirety:

1) In the past, Godaddy allowed employees (Adam Dicker, former Godaddy VP of something) to bid at TDNAM auctions against clueless, normal bidders like you and me. Dicker, at very least, drove up prices and procured some nice names for himself in the process. You and I got screwed, Godaddy and Dicker got richer. Now you know some relative facts.

2) Snapnames still seems to get a pass from DNJournal, with Snapnames' auction results posted as genuine, even though Snapnames is the largest admitted domain auction fraudster in history (if I am wrong here, someone chime in please). Snapnames perpetrated auction fraud (blaming one lone employee) in thousands of auctions over a period of years. You and I got screwed while Snapnames got rich. What does DNJournal do? DNJournal seems to watch out for Snapnames, rather than clueless domainers who know nothing about the history of Snapnames' fraud. That's what it appears like to me.

What's great to see is the demise of sleazy domain entities, including ethically challenged registrars, auctioneers, and domain "news" rags.

This stuff is important, and that's why I continue to harp on it.
