Simple explanation......

Google was sued for detrimental reliance wherein they were billing for AdWords clicks as a result of clicks on "parked" sites licensed for AdSense for Domains. They are going to lose a great deal of money as a result of selling clicks on parked 'deceptive' sites and are attempting to mitigate their losses. It will be over early next year. The drop in traffic was exclusively a result of not including AdSense for Domains as bona fide searches.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/industry-news/680026-google-explains-sudden-drop-global-local.html

Calling 100% licensed sites to AdSense for Domains will be found to be deceptive advertising by next Christmas. Not just might be but with absolutely no doubt whatsoever.

I know this because I will be there when it occurs.

The reason for a decrease in search activity is the number of different search engines out there-- each offering something unique to that particular search engine. Of course, google will (for the most part) always provide the general public with an easy way to search for our questions, however why not use bing? or youtube? or stumbleupon? These sites are endless and with the new explosion of these sites, comes a decrease in the importance of general search engines such as google.
