.LU Domain #1 On New DNJournal Top Ten As ccTLD's Take 3 of Top 4 Slots

Talk about a Christmas surprise! A country code domain from Luxembourg hit #1 on DNJournal.com's Top Ten chart for the first time today. In fact no .lu domain has appeared anywhere on the chart before. It was an impressive week for ccTLDs in general as they took 3 of the top 4 slots with French and British country code domains accounting for the other big winners in that category. .Com did just fine as always taking the other 7 slots on the big board. The new extensions enjoyed a strong week too with five 4-figure sales including one that ranks among the Year to Date leaders. Read all about it through the link below:

Everytime I look at those lists, I'm amazed.. mainly because domains like CompareCellPhones.com and BrainInjuryLawyer.com (both LONG!) went as high as they did... I guess they're descriptive but maybe I shouldn't wrack my brains so hard looking for under 8 char. domains!

The one thing I have noticed it is that the majority of the sales are going through bidding services, dropped names list, etc.. Not much from us common folk.
