| NamePros Regular | I think who ever microsoft employ for their marketing strategy needs to be sacked.I meen, could they not forsee the hurdles ahead when they chose bing as their search engine! The name is aweful, there were plenty more to choose from. They totally ballsed this up from the top down, and I personally hope there TM request is squashed just as it should be.They cannot win a TM with that name.Talk about one big costly flop. |

| NamePros Expert | This will probably be dealt with the usual MS way...money. People will get settlements and companies will be purchased. That or lawyers will burn opposition to the ground with motions.

| New Member | BongoBing’sTM CEO and co-founder, Raul Pellerano, commented: “We have worked hard and invested significant resources in building our BongoBingTM brand and identity, our website and services, and our corporate identity. We believe it is important for a small company like The Laptop Company to continue to use its trademarks and conduct business without confusion in the marketplace.” The Laptop Company, Inc. is represented on its request for an extension of time by Lando & Anastasi, LLP of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Microsoft Corporation is represented by the Seed IP Law Group PLLC of Seattle, Washington. Last edited by Samit; 08-03-2009 at 02:47 AM. |

| NamePros Regular | the laptop company would most likely benefit from it with or without the lawsuit publicity but they know they will benefit more with the lawsuit even if they lose I know i have never heard of bongobing and i find it funny that they would do this assuming that their product uses windows a Microsoft product and their company would most likely fail without em i guess there is always linux

| NamePros Regular | You could argue that names such as Yahoo and Google were poor in terms of memorability and marketing when they first started, yet look at the value of both brands today. I am sure they conducted some type of market research on the name too before it was the final choice. |
