6-Figure Sale at Sedo Leads DNJournal's 1st Weekly Chart for 2009

The first weekly domain sales report of 2009 is out at DNJournal.com. The New Year holiday shortened the work week considerably so overall volume was understandably light, but there were still some very solid individual sales, led by a $167,500 bell ringer at Sedo.com. Sedo wound up sweeping the top three spots on our new Top 20 chart and piled up 10 of the 20 chart entries. Their list included a $57,000 German country code sale, one of eight ccTLDs on the all extension leader board as the country codes got off to a great start in 2009.

We also saw a wave of completed sales from Aftermarket.com’s live auction at T.R.A.F.F.I.C. Down Under and five of those names earned spots on the Big Board. You can get all of the details here: http://www.dnjournal.com/domainsales.htm

... and #4 Tampa.info, a name that fetched $3,500 at Sedo.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/industry-news/548583-6-figure-sale-sedo-leads-dnjournals.html

That was a surprisingly low price for Tampa.info. Back in April of 2004 that name changed hands for $10,000, so someone wound up taking a big loss to move that big city geo domain.
Ouch!

However, given the general state of current affairs (not to mention, whatever the seller's motivations) and despite my choice of moving or dropping most, if not all, of my smaller Geo .INFO's ... it's nice to see a $3,500 sale and at least some decent demand for such a popular and populated regionalized .INFO domain!
The point, going forward, may be to be highly selective with the registrations or acquisitions of .INFO's!

I knew the aftermarket was getting hot when i went looking for domains with "aftermarket" in them and everything was taken. Nice news, thanks.
