Google AdSense™

Hello,

We'd like to let you know about some updates to your Google AdSense account.
Getting Started guides

Having difficulty getting started with AdSense? Would you like more information about alternate ads or the URL filter? We've put together some simple guides that will walk you through the process of generating your ad code and adding it to your site, and that explain the various alternate ad options and URL filtering techniques. They're available from the AdSense Online Resources page at www.google.com/adsense/help.

Updated Terms and Conditions

As a result of publisher feedback, we will not be paying out all accounts at the end of the year. We'll continue to pay publishers on a regular schedule, and will send payments to qualifying publishers with earnings balances over $100. In addition, cancelled accounts will only be paid out if their account has earned a minimum of $10. Please take the time to read the updated Google AdSense Terms & Conditions thoroughly the next time you log in.

Also from Google: Google Print

Google's mission is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful. Since a lot of the world's information isn't yet online, we're helping to get it there. Google Print puts the content of books where you can find it most easily; right in Google search results.

To use Google Print, just search on Google as you normally would. For example, do a search on a subject such as "Books about Ecuador Trekking," or search on a title like "Romeo and Juliet." Whenever a book contains content that matches your search terms, we'll show links to that book in your search results. Click on the book title and you'll see the page that contains your search terms, as well as other information about the book. You can also search for other topics within the book. Click "Buy this Book" and you'll go straight to a bookstore selling the book online.

Right now we're just testing this program, so you may not see books in your results for every search. But you can expect to see more and more books popping up in your search results in the coming months.

If you're a book publisher and you'd like to have your books included in Google search results, look into the Google Print program for publishers.
Send us your feedback

As always, we welcome any and all feedback. Please feel free to send us your comments or suggestions at adsense-support@google.com.

We appreciate your participation, and look forward to continuing to help you monetize your web pages.

Sincerely,

The Google Team

Yeah, which publishers decided that not getting paid was a good idea?

What was the wording before they changed it? If the arrangement was to pay all accounts at the end of the year, regardless of credits earned, then I think this change is reasonable. If google were to spend a few dollars (for check printing, envelop stuffing, and postage) for each and every adsense account, then it would result in a lot of wasted resources. Why should google spend X dollars for an account that earned less than $10? It won't make sense.

Apollo, from my understanding of the new wording, I believe all accounts under $100 (not just those under $10) won't be paid at the end of the year. The accounts from $10-$100 will only be paid upon cancellation. Please clarify if I am mistaken.

taheny's correct. If you cancel with less than $10, you don't get anything at all.

If you have $10 to $100 in your account, you won't get any money until you cancel or break thru the $100 threshold.

It is pretty hard to believe that people would complain about recieving money. Sounds like they just want to keep a few bucks for themselves.

It is quite easy for Google to look at their records and determine "Well...if we just raise the payment figure to $10 then we could save a couple million a year or more because most people starting out give up after two months after making .88 cents and never return to the program thus never claim the money."

It doesnt affect me because I make more anyway - but still I can see what is going on and how it works.
