Namecheap offering free SSL with new registration

I just purchased the .net version of my .com domain, and got a SSL certificate with it - which is transferable to the .com name! This makes up, in my mind, the fact that namecheap is a little more expensive right now.

Anyway, I thought some of you might appreciate knowing about this.

yes it's very nice, I have them too.

But what to do with these spare SSL certificates? I haven't figured out any use for them if I'm not processing online payments.

Sooty:
Any time that you are taking people's information (name, email address, username, password, etc..) or any time you have a website where people have to have an account and login, or any time you yourself login to an administration back-end or anything, it's a good idea to have SSL.

Otherwise, all of this data is sent through the internet unencrypted, making it possible for anyone in the "path" of the information being transmitted able to intercept it and read it - and thus being able to hijack accounts, steal information, etc...
