![]() ![]() ![]() | Is there something seriously wrong with the Domain industry? Guys!!!!! Just go to Alexa and check out the trend graphs(from Oct 07 till now) for anything-related-to-domaining.com's! There is a very dangerous decline in traffic ranking in almost every case. I have checked sedo, dnforum, namepros, afternic, namedrive, Parked, and many others, only to witness the drastic declines in rankings. Implications? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Alexa changed the way it rankings work a while back which is probably playing a part. Generally the domain market has been in downturn since the start of the year though so general interest in going to wane with that.

![]() ![]() ![]() | As regards the decline within the domain industry, economy is definitely a major factor. But I tried to be over-smart and took some bad positions at the time when S&P was near 1350 and Bernanke was cutting rates in an emergency. Those were the days when Bear Stearns had collapsed and Fed was frentic about economic slow down, and I thought that people would pull out from stocks and bonds and would invest in domains; they instead went for oil. Now I am fully convinced that domains move with stocks (and the economy of course). May be we'll see a "Domains 100 index" someday in near future LOL. But are there any other factors too, besides economy?
