It appears to be CS Lewis' estate that's going after it. Too bad they have not
grabbed the one thing that got away...

I owned ChroniclesOfNarnia.com when I was thirteen (more than a couple years ago), but let it drop after a few years because of lack of funds, Walden Media registered it shortly thereafter (they made the Narnia movies with Disney). I didn't know anything at all about trademark law at the time, I was just a kid that wanted to make a Narnia fan site.
EDIT: "The Chronicles Of Narnia" is the name of the Narnia series, so ChroniclesOfNarnia.com is probably the most desirable narnia name after Narnia.com.

Whether it was done honestly as a gift or with an intention of making money, but the law is the law.

I think the Sedo parking page kinda blatantly gives the old intentions away.

Isn't Narnia old enough to be in the public domain, like Peter Pan or Cinderella? Sure, Disney has movies about those, but they are based on old works and aren't copyrighted anymore.

Publication date 1950–1956
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_domain
Quote: British law
British government works are restricted by either Crown Copyright or Parliamentary Copyright. Published Crown Copyright works become public domain at the end of the year 50 years after they were published, unless the author of the work held copyright and assigned it to the Crown. In that case, the copyright term is the usual life of author plus 70 years. Unpublished Crown Copyright documents become public domain at the end of the year 125 years after they were first created. However, under the legislation that created this rule, and abolished the traditional common law perpetual copyright of unpublished works, no unpublished works will become public domain until 50 years after the legislation came into effect. Since the legislation became law on 1 August 1989, no unpublished works will become public domain under this provision until 2039. Parliamentary Copyright documents become public domain at the end of the year 50 years after they were published. Crown Copyright is waived on some government works provided that certain conditions are met.
C.S. Lewis was a UK resident...I am sure the copyrights are owned by his publishing house though. Pretty sure at least.
Someone owns them anyways.

I seriously can't believe they're making such a big fuss over this whole ordeal. If they were not making any money from the domain itself then I don't see what the big deal is, but then of course its parked at Sedo so who knows what they planned to do with it. :P
