They won't actually register a copyright or trademark registration, it's just something they include in their code, that statement in an attempt, a futile attempt may i add to discourage their criminal colleagues or criminal newbie wannabes.

They won't actually legally file a copyright

That would be like filing a patent on a new way to steal cars.
