Godaddy.com stealing your money!

Yea you heard it right if you bought any names or services between june 1 - 3 then you will be charged twice for these products, and you will not recieve a email or anything notifying you of the transaction.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/industry-news/336742-godaddy-com-stealing-your-money.html

Let me explain,
I registered a few .com's on the 1st of june names went to my account and I didn't get charged until the 4th but I log into my paypal and I see this charge for the exact same amount that i paid for on the 4th.

Now my irritation is that I wasn't notified by email beforehand, or even shortly there after of them basically reaching their hand in my pp account and taking what they wanted to make their books right because of a glitch in THEIR system .

Man I tell you these guys are a class act, why are we the customer held accountable for their mistake.

And by the way the only reason I noticed it was something just told me to take a look at my pp account for some weird reason.

You can probably tell I just got off the phone with cust. service and I am pissed.

In GD defense you will receive a refund sometime next week ? WTF

Most likely you aren't charged twice. Often a company does an "authorization" which APPEARS to be a charge..but then a day or two later will actually make the charge. Did you use Paypal or your Paypal credit card?

I doubt a company like godaddy, the leaders in DN registration would do that.

i never experienced anything with them.

they are always good, in their service, support.

review your bank statement/paypal again.

Godaddy never highlight when you are owed a refund, you always have to point it out to them. They are one of the best registrars, but some of their system, such as the backorders, tdnam and the 'kiting' are simply scandalous.

Im sure it was by mistake or error. As gingeman said, they never inform you when they owe you a refund and you will have to request. They become scammers only if they refuse to refund you.

The same thing happened to me yesterday.

I renewed a bunch of domains on 02 June. The funds were taken out of my pp account on 04 June. Yesterday I registered a domain name and was charged for the new domain. The amount of the renewals on 04 June was also recharged and deducted from my pp account again.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=336742

The explaination I was given is that they have been having a problem with their payment gateway. I was told that the duplicate charge would be refunded in 2-7 days. They also offered to pay any overdraft charges arising from the mistake. It's good of them to do that, but, as I told them, it still would have a negative impact on my payment history with my creditors.

I usually check my pp account after every purchase. Had I not done this I'd be up the creek had I tried to pay any bills from the account. I wasn't notified of the glitch either, as I'm sure nobody else was.

This is actually the point I'm trying to make you hit it right on the head ricma, somebody else does feel my pain. They didn't offer to pay any of my overdrafts they must like you more than me.

My experience with GD is the opposite. I've been credited $XXX in error. I had to point it out to them . They're by no means my favorite, I have no more than a couple dozen names with them at any given time, but having a GD account is a must if you're into buying/selling domains (fast domain push).

I've always received a reply from their customer care team, and I'm sure your case will be resolved. I wouldn't recommend them as your "base-registrar", though.

You will want to make sure in your Godaddy account that you do not allow them to make automatic deductions. I never allow automatic renewels either, I hand renew each domain, that way I do not get caught with a surprise.

Yeah, turning the manual renewal on can avoid any unsuspecting surprises.

Just make sure you use an email address that you receive, otherwise you may miss out on renewing the domain!

True, they have never told me I have a refund,
but they always send me an email telling me what
I paid for didn't work. it's not rocket science.
So, I reply with the email saying
thanks for letting me know, and how long for a refund?
Of course I get the generic email saying up to 5 days...and maybe
I'll get a refund....
I have never waited more than 48 hours!

????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=336742
They have always been fair with me - especially if it's user error,
which 90% of the time it is!

Could you perhaps explain how that went about? Maybe it can help space101
get the same result re: that overdraft.

For the rest of you who seem "impatient" about the refund, it can take days,
especially if you used a credit card. Don't know how it goes with Paypal.

On the side, one poster in another forum confirmed he got Go Daddy's email of
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=336742
that gateway problem.

Also if they renew automatically, you can't use coupons!

I haven't had a problem with refunds yet. Hopefully that won't change.

The over charge was credited to my account when I checked this morning. Luckily I didn't have any payments to bounce.
