Domain Names tries another mailout


An internet registration business that was taken to court this year for misleading and deceptive conduct is again invoicing businesses for a service most did not realise they were getting.

In a new mailout, Domain Names Australia is seeking a $187 fee for renewal of email and web forwarding services that it claims it has been providing as part of the registration of internet domains.

The chief executive of the Australian domain administrator auDA, Chris Disspain, said yesterday he had referred complaints from companies to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission. He said auDA was seeking legal advice on how the invoices were constructed
