wrong idea about Chinese Domain name?

I am a chinese, and interesting in IDN as well. but I have different options with some member about the Chinese domain name like dot com. some people mentioned in the following posts like 翻译.com[translation] or 鞋.com[shoe]
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/idn-discussion/244373-wrong-idea-about-chinese-domain-name.html

I don't see the new windows Vista or IE 7 will fully support Chinese domain name with dot com [probably from verisign] but only dot cn [from CNNIC]. here is an example, you could try http://微软.cn or http://微软.com [microsoft] -- and see only the http://微软.cn works well. --- 微软 == microsoft

If any example like http:// Chinese Character.com works, please let me know, many thanks. sherriff_shao@hotmail.com

CNNIC made it so that idn.idn (idn.cn) is possible within china's borders. It will not depend on Vista but ICANN to make idn.idn possible for .com / .cn etc worldwide. This should happen shortly.

If you download IE7 you will see that it will. I have been running it since Beta 2. I am of course currently on RC1 and very soon we will nearly all be on Vista. If you are stuck with IE6 then got to www.idn-now.com to down load the Plug-in and you can start resolving them in IE6. I was doing this three year ago!
