First let me set the stage, I created a small tween animation and exported it as a movie, I then imported it back into a new project. The clip now uses one frame of my time line.

Add one button and the clip to the time line.

What I am trying to accomplish is getting the clip to play when i mouse over the button and rewind when i mouse out of the button.

I found an example but am unable to duplicate it using my own clip and button. The whole idea is to represent an activity calendar and when the user rolls over the date for a particular activity the information on that date balloons out of the square on the calendar revealing the information of the activity for that day.

my flash scripting is a bit rusty but here goes. Off hand

On mouse over gotoandplay(2)
on mouse out gotoandplay(1)
Where frame 1 is the starter screen (possibly using the stop(); command.
And frame 2 is the animation

Best to check through the coding file on flash for the exact writing that goes with each function.
