Using a template, trying to add text to a button

Hi.

I am using a template for my website, and have a blank button graphic. I want to try and put text on the button, but the only program I have is MS Paint, and it's hard to get the text exact for each button (I want 2 colours of text for each button, one as the original button, and the other for a mouse-over).

Can anyone offer me some advice on how to do this, and make the buttons match exactly?

Thank you in advance.

*Adam* is an unknown quantity at this point

You could use the blank button as a background image on a table cell, then type in the text and use css to make it change on rollover, heres an example:

Feel free to look at the source and save the page.

You could also download The Gimp. It's very similar to Photoshop, but it's free.

EDIT: Whoops, I forgot the URL! It's at http://www.gimp.org/.
