Very good I like it, but if I'm not mistaken you used the graphic/background from a Template Monster template.

Thats the only thing that I would change as it doesn't look good if u take it from another template thats all over the internet.

Best Regards

Hi Jarrod,

Thanks for your comments Well actually, the abstract background may seem like a TM (i think it was one in the 3000s), but it's quite changed already with my abstract art skills I did keep that subtle server pic that slightly appears from the larger server pic, but that's just cause it looks cool Anyway, I'll see if I can modify it more so that the resemblance is not shown.

Pretty damn nice looking.

Why only 630 pixels wide though? Just curious.

Great question Ron, I was waiting for that one Not sure, I'm thinking of the new template style, whether it should be a "fixed" style (meaning designed for 800x600 users) or a "flexible/autostretch" style, which would work with all resolutions. The opnions on the current layout of PolurNET.com have been mixed, some saying they don't like the autostretch mode, others saying it looks neat...

Most professional sites I've seen have decided to use only fixed-mode styling, but I don't think it's such a great idea (although its much easier to code!) compared to a style in which takes the full browser width into account.
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=62461

So based on that, I'd probably make the main logo (above) stick with that size, and put a background fill image in the template to give a full width look.

Any tips to which style I should go for? fixed or autostretch?

Thanks much,
Anand

my personal thoughts

[1] its not bright design.. colors fonts are dull in colors see top menu items in gray
[2] bear image is unnecessory
[3] server type image below slogan and plug type image above company name is unnecessory
[4] black color in "u" is unnecessory
[5] make right side server image little smaller in height and make dotted line bar at bottom accross header

thats it i think

Nice job Anand! Both the banner and the logo look great, but could use a few changes.

1. The image of the Earth overlaps the "N" and doesn't make that part of the logo look good, if you put it behind the "N" then it'd look better.

2. The font you used for the "shared & reseller hosting", "domain registration", etc. is a little blurred and would look better if you used a pixel font.

Thanks for the nice reviews + feedback everyone!

I've made some changes that people recommended in the following version:
????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=62461

@HellFear: pixel fonts is a good idea, i'll try and find the collections i have, and see if they look better. Till then, I've made the fonts a bit darker

@dotcommakers: I've extended the dotted line at the bottom
-Background has more texture now, for a "snowy" look
-server pic is tinted and "plastic" for a cool effect
- The world on top of the "N" is now over the letter, as HellFear suggested; looks nicer, I agree

Any more thoughts on the logo are appreciated; also please comment on the type of template I should use on the site: should it be FIXED or AUTOSTRETCH?

Happy New Year everyone!
Anand
