Maintaining colour from PSD to jpg

When I save an image for my web page one of the colours change slightly from #E0DDF9 to #E2DEF9. I know this will have something to do with the loss of information during compression but the colour needs to match the colour of an adjacent table cell.

Is there any way in which I can ensure the colour continues to match after compression.

I know that Gifs are better for blocks of colour but the image also contains photos.

Cheers

Neil

The only thing that comes to my mind would be to change the table cell colour to match the Jpeg colour.

'Websafe' colours don't really matter much these days, or do they?

Edit: perhaps you could try .png? But the file size may be too large.

Check if you work in "Web graphics default" settings in Edit-> Color settings.
Usually, yes, Photoshop's and IE's color profiles can be different.
Try to embed ICC profile into your images (You can do that in Color settings also).
