Placing a flash image on top of another one....

Hi guys, I know it's a fairly common question but can't find the thread or the answer. Anyway have a look at http://www.plooka.com - you will notice the flash banner along the top for the navigation displayes beneath the other flash objects. How do I place it on top - Z Indez does not work.

Cheers!

Ok using the Wmode - transparent I have managed to get the flash menu to overlap the flash image in internet explorer. However Firefox and Chrome still don't work - has anyone overcome this??

You can do this by puting the first image as background

the only way to do what you want is using iframes (if you have clickable links on the top div) or z-index. Most of the time z-index + wmode:transparent will work on all browsers

Question is: do you really, really, REALLY need that flash animation? I think you'd concentrate on your menu, the flash anim adds very little (if anything) and it's interfering with your navigation. You can also take off the flash anim and replace it with an animated gif or even a video if you think you can't live without it.

Yeah I think you may be making sense there! May drop the small flash animation, as probably doesn't add too much...

the navigation can definately be exactly replicated (or RIDICULOUSLY close) by using purely html/css, and maybe some javascript if you want fading and stuff. (and maybe some images for curved corners etc).

making it not flash will make it more web crawler friendly too since sometimes web crawlers for search engines to crawl flash links. if you have it as html/css, the links will be followed and your whole site will get indexed. also, the page will load much faster.
