My first try at a logo

I'm no designer and I'm looking for opinions and suggestions.

It's for my future website deligames.com that will be a replacement for my current dangerzsoft.com. Don't look at the deligames.com website I just copied the old design. It will be totally different (I hope anyway).

The cherries illustrated the "delicious" part and the joystick illustrates the "game" part (while forming the "i" letter).

I like it but I think there's something wrong and can't exactly figure it out. Maybe the cherries are too big and create too much blank space in the upper area ?

I don't know. Maybe I can either reduce the cherries or add something in the upper area ?

Opinions? Suggestions ?

You cant read it, looks like "DEL GAMES" never thought it would be "DELIGAMES".
Joystik must merge with text, same shape, same color.

Take out the glow and shadow.
User purple in DELI and HotPink-almost-red on GAMES. align the cherries to the right, dont put behind text

Yeah I know that the joystick as the "i" is not something really obvious.
I have some problems modifying it to the style of the font while keeping its joystick look. Any tip for that ? I'll start by changing its color, maybe that will help.

I liked the first logo with the joystick - in my opinion, you should place the joystick after DELI not after DEL - like

sorry, but this logo is a little messy.
Cherries glowes is extremely confusing, and so are effect on text.
Try a netter font, no border maybe and no effects. Redisign the cherries with no effects. It just doesn t look good I am afraid..

Hmmm . Thats pretty nice effort mate. 10/10, if that is your first effort.

But things I think I should tell you for Future use.

- Try to use Gradients, with close colours. It gives a nice effect.
- Try not to use Thick outlines, unless obviously necessary.
- Refrain from shadows, either make it strong on the whole or else use a Web 2.0 Effect.

And for all this, I'll recommend. Pick a good blog logo and try to replicate it.

Cherries are OK, but you can change joystick from letter I to letter L , will be understood much better. Good luck !

Good job , but i would completely change the color of "DEL" and the cherries.
This purple is just too dark and doesn't really match to the red color of "games"
And i would remove the joystick (or place a joystick somewhere else in the Logo)

If you would like to keep the cherries and the purple color, take a brighter color.

This is just to give you an idea what i mean with matching colors.
Of course there is no accounting for taste. Just exchanging ideas.

I think the cherries should be red with green for the leaf & storks, then make the words all one color.

The logo seems to be good, but to make it better, a web2.0 type logo would be cool, where did u make it?
i would suggest making your logo on the Latest Photoshop which is Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended.
