· #1 | | New Member | Weird Photoshop Eraser Problem I am having some issues with my eraser tool in photoshop. I have used photoshop for several years and have never had a problem but I just cannot seem to find a solution to this...
When I use my eraser to erase whatever I am erasing. Its not smooth and almost looks like I have used the burn too. This is somewhat hard to explain so hopefully someone will get what I am trying to say. Anyway, I am on a Macbook Pro Intel Core Duo Laptop with 2 gigs of ram. SO I have no idea what the deal is.
It just is not smooth and it just started doing this. Anyone have any idea what the problem is?
Please help! |

| You may have changed a setting accidentally. When you start up Photoshop, hold Ctrl+Alt+Shift to reset your Photoshop settings file. This may erase some other settings, but it could fix your eraser tool. |

| Try resetting just the eraser tool:
Click on the eraser tool. In the top left (under File, Edit, etc), you'll see an arrow indicating there's a drop-down box available. Click on that arrow. A box will fly out.
Click on the arrow in the top right of this box.
Select "Reset Tool" from the list of options. This should hopefully fix your issue. |

| Hmmm...Could you take a screenshot of what the eraser tool is doing when you try to use it? |

| I'm assuming you were trying to erase the black background? That almost looks like the eraser tool is attempting to use a strange brush. Maybe check which brush or pencil tool the eraser is using? |

Its the weirdest thing I have come across in photoshop. |
