![]() | They're very similar, and the only place that either is better than the other (IMO) is filters. Photoshop has much more available in the way of filters. The only reason that I would suggest Fireworks, is because I use it on a daily basis and I have both. Personally, my work flow with web design / layout work is much faster in Fireworks MX than PS7. If I could only buy one or the other, photoshop would be the clear winner, because it is far better for complex graphic/photo editing and it'll do anything fireworks does. I guess what I'm saying, they're both great programs, neither much better than the other, but they both have their own strengths and weakneses. |

![]() ![]() | Yeah, I agree, Photoshop is probably the BEST image editing program out there, or one of them, lol. I only used Fireworks 4 in my designing career, but I hated it with a passion. Photoshop has the filters and plugins you can add in to enhance your designs. I'm not quite sure if Fireworks offers those features. Photoshop also has many more options like the air brush, pencil, line, and eraser tools that are much better than Fireworks. But this is only my opinion, LoL. Take it as you wish :-P

![]() | i use them both quite frequently for different reasons...i use ps7 when i am creating an initial master or major design. i use fireworks to make menus due to the ease of compatibility with dreamweaver and the ability to easily export. fireworks is also nice if you want to quickly resize or edit an image from dreamweaver...hope this helps a little bit |
