![]() | so you wanna learn 3ds huh? Well, good luck ![]() It's not rocket science, because theirs no rockets or rocket fuel involved, but it certainly isn't for people with a short attention span or a less than a professional level of general computer skills. I had a go at 3D Studio Max about 7 or 8 months ago, and once you get some basics down, you can create some really interesting abstract stuff pretty easily. But if you want to actually draw something, it takes a lot of time to learn. I don't want to discourage you, just telling the truth. I've spoken to a lot of people who have worked with it for a few years or more and are still learning it. Here are a few of the 3ds links out of my favorites folder: http://www.highend3d.com/3dsmax/tutorials/ http://www.3dcafe.com/asp/default.asp http://www.3dtotal.com/ http://www.3dlinks.com/links.cfm?cat...categoryid=105 And here's a few of my pityful attempts at 3d design: http://catseyedesigns.net/images/art_green_head.jpg - this one was made using a plugin ????: NamePros.com http://www.namepros.com/graphic-design-flash/15714-3ds-max.html http://catseyedesigns.net/images/art_knot.jpg http://catseyedesigns.net/images/art_lock_and_chain.jpg Hope those help, and good luck. Send me an email if you can't figure something out. I'll see if I can help. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | 3DS Max, Lightwave, Maya... they all rock. Tuts would be great to give you a "handle" on them, but you may want to invest in a good 3DS Max book... not only will it give you a more rounded learning experience, it'll make you appreciate it even more.

![]() ![]() | 3DS Max, Lightwave, and Maya are also the hardest programs around, not to me of course because I use them :-D But still, to any beginner, USE TUTORIALS at first and those links up there are perfect just to start you off to a great start! I warn you tho, those programs are not as easy as they look
