I don't think adobe bought the Macromedia Flash, but might be you are right, but one point that I made is that I didn't see on the Macromedia site any slogans or banners with text "Adobe" in it or somethin', so...I don't really know, but I guess Adobe didn't buy it...

The actual intro I saw there was a bit of a waste of bandwidth. It didn't really tell me anything about the comapny but it did look pretty.
Anyway to get that pretty look I think they would have used a little more than flash. Effects like that are made in big studios to use in film/adverts etc. There is a Adobe program out to achieve effects like that now at a budget price it's called after effects. Though you may need some 3d work with some of the effects which you will need another program, something like 3d max. Not cheap and a steep learning curve the height of everest.
Oh yeah, then you will have to work with sound you may find sound clips to fit your intro, or you may design your intro to fit some sounds you have. Else some more expensive sound editing software will be needed.
