Quick Question - Other ads too, but not by Adsense?

Hey guys,

Quick question here: if I remember right, in the TOS it says if you decide to display/us Google Adsense on your site you can only use Google Adsense.

For example: You couldn't have 3 (the max amount of seperate Adsense banners allowed on your site) Adsense banners on your website and then have two or three other banners from someplace else, like AdHearUs for example.

Am I right or did I think I read this? I could have swore that if you are to display Google Adsense on your site, then they are the only ads you can display all together.

Sorry if this was a dumb question, but thanks,
-Andy M

i believe the rule is that you can't display similar ads to google (ex. no ads in the same format such as those from companies such as bidvertiser.com). i believe youre still allowed to display other banners/text links.

however, im not 100% sure about this. i would say to contact someone at google and ask to make sure.

From what I understand you can display any ads you want as long as they are not in the same format as the Adsense ads and are not adult/illegal in nature, but then again who knows what they mean except Google so an email to them should clear up any questions you have.

Other ads are ok (http://www.vir.cc , for example), just no competitors to Adsense (Like clicksor, etc., that have the same format and look similar)

I run an ad for Ebay and 1-800 flowers on the first page along with the Google ads and other pages have a similar setup. As long as they aren't contextual (meaning like G ads) you should be fine. They do have a line in the TOS about too many ads, but I think that is more designed for a site that is all ads and not so much for just some standard ad placement on a content site.
