No, but sometimes you have domains which you get constant direct traffic...without the use of content....
So, I wanted to put only AD-sense adverts in this domain.......with very little content...is it permissble ?

Then with less content you are missing out on the potential of search engine traffic... with the bots scanning etc.. but this is just my opinion

but am already getting around 30 to 40 visitors per day from direct traffic....which i think is good isnt ?

yes 30-40 is better than none. But I would always add fresh content to any site that is getting traffic. On a side note you can not have a site just for the ads... just a catch 22 if you ask me

more content = more visitors
if you dont want to put more content then you may get clicks as you are expecting but you were lossing peoples that will ignore your site because of nothing they find about what they need
also let you know most people have been blocked adsense from IE or other browsers etc
