Banned From Adsense

Quick question / comment for all of you...

I had adsense on my sites for atleast 2 years, never any issues...Then all of a sudden I receive an e mail from google telling me that there has been fraudulent clicks, all of a sudden, I am banned.

I attempted to appeal and all they would do is tell me that there were fraudulent clicks and that I am banned.

Here is the problem I have with this...most people understand how adsense works and what their rules are. So lets say I ban someone from the site, they could easily return as a guest and start clicking away at ads in an attempt to retaliate and get me banned.

I'm sorry to hear that but there's really nothing you can do. I've found, at least in my experience, that they usually give you some sort of warning about account problems before they take action.

Good luck, remember there are always more fish in the sea.

Click Bombs are not unheard of unfortunately

Sorry to hear it - There will always be this risk with PPC feeds/ads , Which is why I think CPA or Lead type ads are where I'm heading pretty quickly.
"Haters" won't be able to harm you unless they intend to buy something and chargeback on it -

Thanks you guys...ya I am a little dissapointed, I would have even thought I would have received a notice or warning that something was going on, however, received nothing.

I have since started using my CJ account, however, there really are only a few ads that pertain to my site topic.

I have also applied to Yahoo YPN or whatever it is, however, have yet to hear something.

Anyone else have any suggestions on anything else I could try that may have a larger ad base for my site subject (atv's)

Thanks again

Same thing happened to me.

Adsense really sucks when it comes to appeals. Apparently they can't quite grasp the concept of a click-bomb.

Ya know I was just thinking....what would stop google from telling someone they were getting fraudulent clicks and banning an account and refusing to pay. They give no explanation as to why they ban someone, they simply tell you something fraudulent was going on...

Is this an indication of a scam? How much money can they keep by banning people and refusing to pay.

Sorry I am an investigator by profession so I had to ask.

Apparently quite a bit...I hear this same type of story all too often (click bomb or ban for no reason, then Google won't let the publisher back in)...I think it's a common practice for them

I think they are easier to ban shit traffic accounts. In last 3.5 years I got like 20 warnings - "Do not click" (I was clinking to see who is advertising), "This is against TOS" etc. Highets form of "punishment" was they informed me they will no more serve ads for the domain.

If you haven't done anything wrong, just email them and offer them the logs of traffic. Also search for adsense reinstatement guide at google, you will find some good articles about it.

Cancer Survivorship
How often/how closely do you monitor your Adsense stats and your server logs? Are you running click tracking software? If you see unusual activity patterns you can try to block the IP(s) and notify G. in advance.

Hi,

There is a script called AdLogger. It logs the clicks on your ads and send them to your e-mail. (Who clicked (From which IP), from which page, when) Also it has a feature which is a solution for clickbombs. You can let your visitors click twice to your any advertisement in 12 hours. If your visitor tries to click more than 2 your ads are disappearing 12 hours for that visitor. Click amount and time period can be changed from admin panel. All I know that script is not against the rules. I recommend it.

I'm sorry to hear this. Adsense has been very strict about their policies. I think they make huge money from deleting website owners, which have websites and they owe them money.

Talvethia's suggestion looks like a viable way of protecting against saboteurs. Thanks, talvethia (rep. added).

As a precautionary measure, I’ve been using AdLogger on my online games website as well. In the event that Google extends its wrath on me, I am at least somewhat prepared.

Is AdLogger very effective in limiting clicks from users, even when using proxies?

Welcome to the club. They're doing this to hundreds of site a day. 90% of them are innocent. Yet google really doesn't care.

I think they also send that emial for other reasons, like if your domain is no logner bringing in enough clicks for it to be profitable to google.
