Free Domain from Register.com

Hey guys,

I don't quite remember where I first heard about this, but I just registered a free domain from Register.com for one year.

I went to the this site Free 1 Year Domain Name From Register.com and followed the directions. I had some issues with the second link, but was able to complete the transaction for free using the first link!

Enjoy, and hopefully this hasn't been posted here on NP before! Feel free to update with Rep points if it helps you out.

Do not register valuable domains using this offer. After one year when you want to transfer the domain, you need to call the support over phone to get the auth code.

naveen, thats fine.
They would be really happy to give you the auth code, and also its free to call(you can also call using skype!)
Also, let them know you're transferring somewhere for $5, they would offer you renewal for $5.50 and for the service they provide it really worth it. After two years ask for auth code and they will kindly give it to you.

I had to enter a credit card number, but I have not been charged for my domain. I assume that the credit card is for the auto-renew feature, which you can disable right away once you get the domain in your account.

That I'm not sure about...what you could attempt to do is to make several different accounts, but I am sure that Register.com wouldn't like this!

Don't forget to cancel though! This offer has been going on for more than a year. I reg'd one and then a year later they charged me $35! That's more than a 6 year registration at GoDaddy! Just remember to cancel and you'll be fine

Can anyone please register a domain for me? The free-first-year offer one. When I try to register, I don't even get the paypal option and the credit card number I enter says that it has been rejected by the bank. Anyone?
