I have written 2 free online programs to help prepare sites for the search engines:

Search Engine Spider Map Creator

Generates a site map (including optional descriptions) for the search engine spiders. Makes your pages easy for the search engine robots to find and index.

spider map thing didn't work for my site. complained about not putting in "just the domain"...

I had put in "http://www.dynaweather.com/index.cgi" (no quotes) and even another more direct version of that as index.cgi can be tossed around by rewrite rules.

Are cgi's not allowed?

No, the program is setup to use only the 'standard' page extensions (.html, php, etc.)

There are 2 issues here:

The way the script is written, you must specify your starting page along with your domain name so just entering "http://www.dynaweather.com/" won't work.

The script has a list of "acceptable" extensions of files to parse for links, '.cgi' is not on that list so any file with that extension is ignored.

These are compromises I made in writing the program, it isn't perfect but seem to work OK for most sites.
