It attempts to make several calls back to the website at various times without notification to the user.

I would have to explore it further to see what exactly it is sending, but in my book, anything that communicates *without* warning is not a good thing.

Since the website is registered in the same city as you, are you the author?

yes i am the author, and the only 'communication' that is done is to check for a new version. once every 24 hours the program will check for a newer version / update. if one is found it will re update itself. This is clearly stated as one of the features (auto-update).

Ah, okay. Well in this day-and-age it probably will be a good idea to do an alert/prompt before such a connection attempt.

Rather impressive programming though, I must say.
